Ruddock again in 2010? Bwahaha!

From the SMH on Tuesday:

Tony Abbott has returned Kevin Andrews, Bronwyn Bishop and Philip Ruddock to the coalition frontbench, unveiling a marked shift to the right in his first shadow ministry.

The three controversial Howard government-era ministers have been given key portfolios in Mr Abbott's new-look team.

As the face of welfare for the coalition, Mr Andrews will take on families, housing and human services and Ms Bishop, who was involved in the famous kerosene baths scandal as former ageing minister, will be responsible for seniors.

I had resolved yesterday to spend the vast majority of my leisure time in 2010 reading political commentary and watching The 7:30 Report, it being an election year and all.

Then I read about Abbott's awesome new frontbench and figured my time would be better spent unpacking my hammock and throwing Cheesels at the tv instead, just for yucks.

What will you be doing now we don't need to worry about the election?

The people in this household reeled in horror too. But then realised what a wonderful gift Abbott has given the government. (We thought Ruddock was dead!)

I know, it's marvellous Ceec, isn't it? Both the new coalition frontbench and the thought of Ruddock dead!

You know, 2010 looks a whole lot better now, don't you think? Come swing in the hammock with me now we've got nothing to worry about?

I plan to spend the entire 2010 election, driving through Melbourne's richest suburbs, smirking and shouting out "suffer in your jocks, Libs".

Excellent, Ramon. I'll get the Sydney Smirk Bus up and running too. It's going to be so much fun.

2010 is going to be soooo entertaining. I can't wait!!!

Apart from that, I will be attending many hypnotherapy sessions in order to erase the speedos from my mind

Maybe we could hire hypnotherapists to travel around on all the Smirk Buses?

And Squib, not just the speedos but all that Liberal hair! The chest hair, the back hair, the inner thigh hair, the tuft-at-throat hair... and the nipple hair! Our hynotherapists are going to be very busy.

I make promises I can't keep here.

OH GOD!! Just when I thought I was making some progress...

*fetal position*

Ah Ramon I feel it's going to be TSFKA's year; at least I'll be able to say I read you all before you became more famous than the Chaser boys.

And Squib, sorry about the mention of ALL THAT LIBERAL HAIR!! You might need to catch the Perth Smirk Bus all the way to Sydney? That might give you enough time with one of the hypnotherapists to make some progress?

I plan on conducting a Scientiffick Survey (with graphs and everythingk) to track the progress of Bronwyn's head. I have a theory that it's getting bigger.

Fantastic idea, Ms P! Will your Scientifik Analysis include phrenological observations? I can't wait to hear your thoughts on Bishop's 'agreeableness' centre.

M'me Kettle - i think you also need to work the word "Ratiocination" (the process of logical reasoning) somewhere into your political reporting too :)

MLC 'ratiocination' is a fine word and I thank you many times for bringing it to my attention, it's just that I can't imagine anything I write being sufficiently underpinned by a process of logical reasoning to be worthy of it?
